Creation Versus Evolution: Is There a Middle Ground?

by Harley Berger, vice president

While the debate continues to rage in courts and among school boards across the country, the creation versus evolution controversy is not necessarily a clear cut, either/or choice between the description found in the Old Testament and a commonly held scientific theory. There are many possible scenarios explaining the development of life on Earth. Collectively, they represent a spectrum of concepts ranging from a strict biblical interpretation on one end, to various versions of Y“Creation Science” (including Intelligent Design), to Darwin, to modern evolutionary theories on the spectrum’s opposite end.

Wherever your own beliefs fall within this continuum, if you’re like me, you’re probably confused by the myriad of issues involved in the creation-evolution debate.

Join us on Saturday, October 15, when our guest will be Dr. Michael Pape, adjunct assistant professor in the University of Michigan Medical School’s Department of Biological Chemistry. He is also the former pastor of Ann Arbor’s New Life Church. Pape will distill the debate down to some key points that he claims will help us to think through the complexities involved in determining life’s origins.

Come get fresh perspectives on a topic that is rarely treated with sufficient depth.
